sign up today! 2021 summer CSA pick-up at Cleenland

We’re back with Hannan Agro Farms to offer a CSA pick-up again this summer at Cleenland!! Mohammed and his family are our neighbors in Central Square and they grow the organic (non-certified) goods in nearby Lincoln. He’s working with the excellent folks at Mycoterra Farm in South Deerfield to offer a mushroom share too :) Info on the shares, the farm, and sign-up below!

You may be wondering, what’s a CSA share? CSA stands for community supported agriculture. Farming has a lot of up-front costs (seeds, fixing equipment, labor for soil prep, planting, weeding, etc.) and risk (who knows what the weather will be, bugs, etc.!) The community benefits from all that up-front costs and risk-taking by the farmer with the produce we enjoy later in the summer and fall. A CSA is a way for us to share the load. We help with the up-front costs by paying for produce at the beginning of the season and we share the risk by taking whatever grows!

Traditional CSA Shares

Support your local farmer in the beginning of the season, then pick up a box of delicious, nutritious produce every week for 20 weeks, June 12-October 31. (There will be a one-week pause in the middle!) Boxes will typically increase in weight and contain more varieties of produce as we transition from the beginning of the season into peak season.

Weekly CSA share: $700 ($35/week)
Our weekly share is a great match for households of 3-4 people who enjoy cooking. Every week for a 20 week period, you will receive a box containing seven to eleven varieties of freshly picked seasonal produce (weighing about seven to fourteen pounds).

Bi-Weekly CSA share: $350 ($35/week)
Our bi-weekly share is a great option for households of 1-2 people who enjoy delicious produce but don’t cook a lot. Instead of receiving a box every single week, you will receive a box every other week for a 20 week period, containing the same items as the weekly CSA share boxes.

Freedom Share

Also supports your local farmer in the beginning of the season, but with more choice of what’s in your box. June 12-October 31. (There will be a one-week pause in the middle!).

Freedom share: $200 and up ($35 minimum/week)
Pay your total share price up front, then select from available produce each week on Hannah Agro’s facebook page (minimum $35 worth/week.) Your week’s total will be subtracted from your original payment. Order by Thursday at noon for weekend pickup.

$200 = $200 freedom credits

$400 = $410 freedom credits

$600 = $630 freedom credits

$800 = $860 freedom credits

$1000 = $1100 freedom credits

Since 2018, Hannan Agro Farm is growing non-certified organic vegetables, herbs, and fruits using sustainable organic farming practices. Our mission is to offer affordable healthy food to our local residents and to maintain a symbiotic relationship between food, people, land, animals, and the environment. We use only materials approved by the Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI) for pest control and fertility management. We do not use any synthetic chemical in our operation.

The owner, Mohammed Hannan is a 3rd year incubator farmer at New Entry Sustainable Farming Project – an initiative of Tufts University’s Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy. He is originally from Bangladesh and currently working at the Harvard Medical School while farming on the weekends.

We believe that getting healthy food is a right not a privilege. Our goal is to ensure health and wellbeing of our local communities through supplying locally grown fresh vegetables, herbs and fruits.
