get your veggies at Cleenland with a CSA

We’re super excited to partner with one of our Central Square neighbors, Mohammed Hannan, owner-farmer at Hannan Agro Farms to offer a CSA pick-up at Cleenland!! Info on the shares, the farm, and sign-up below!

You may be wondering, what’s a CSA share? CSA stands for community supported agriculture. Farming has a lot of up-front costs (seeds, fixing equipment, labor for soil prep, planting, weeding, etc.) and risk (who knows what the weather will be, bugs, etc.!) The community benefits from all that up-front costs and risk-taking by the farmer with the produce we enjoy later in the summer and fall. A CSA is a way for us to share the load. We help with the up-front costs by paying for produce at the beginning of the season and we share the risk by taking whatever grows!

About the Farm:

Since 2018, Hannan Agro Farm is growing non-certified organic vegetables, herbs, and fruits using sustainable organic farming practices. Our mission is to offer affordable healthy food to our local residents and to maintain a symbiotic relationship between food, people, land, animals, and the environment. We use only materials approved by the Organic Materials Review Institute (OMRI) for pest control and fertility management. We do not use any synthetic chemical in our operation.

The owner, Mohammed Hannan is a 3rd year incubator farmer at New Entry Sustainable Farming Project – an initiative of Tufts University’s Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy. He is originally from Bangladesh and currently working at the Harvard Medical School while farming on the weekends.

We believe that getting healthy food is a right not a privilege. Our goal is to ensure health and wellbeing of our local communities through supplying locally grown fresh vegetables, herbs and fruits.
