Gift Guidance Winter 2019

It’s here. The holiday season. Let’s focus on the positives, shall we? I love twinkly lights in the trees, fireplace-y smell on a neighborhood sidewalk, parties, and slacking off at work. Plus more chances to visit Cleenland. Here are reasons to do some holiday shopping with us:

  1. Our stuff is useful and well-made. I’ve really resisted the urge to become a tchotchke shop so it’s a good bet that whatever you pick up will see some action instead of collecting dust in a closet.

  2. Take the opportunity to nudge a friend or fam member or co-worker in a sustainable direction. They’ve been saying they want to go green — help them take that first step. Suggestions below!

  3. Spend your gift dollars supporting businesses that are working to create a just, livable world for us all, instead of those that… don’t.

  4. Get your personal errands and holiday shopping done in one stop!

  5. If your gift ends up in a landfill *gasp* at least it will decompose :)

Another holiday classic — the gift guide. How to organize it? By size, price, predilection — so many options. We’ve opted for a combination.

wow ‘em with bars

For the already-initiated, bar everything — they probably already have a shampoo bar, but what about conditioner bar, dish soap bar, shave soap bar, and lotion bar!?! You’re gonna knock their socks off. (conditioner bars are $12.95; dish soap bars are $9.49; shave soap bars are $11.95; and lotion bars are $7.45.)

Also wool dryer balls!! These bad boys replace dryer sheets and fabric softener to soften clothes, reduce static, and cut drying time — no bottle, no chemicals, no problem. They are an upfront investment ($9.99/each, 3-5 balls per load are recommended) so an excellent gift. Ours are made in Maine with local wool by a woman of color-owned company, LooHoo.

And if all else fails, grab a Cleenland e-gift card :)
